Television Critics Association

La Television Critics Association (Asociación de Críticos de Televisión) representa a más de 200 periodistas profesionales que cubren la televisión para publicaciones de todo Estados Unidos y Canadá.

La TCA se creó a finales de los años setenta para administrar las visitas semestrales de los críticos a las giras de prensa y representar a sus miembros en otros asuntos de la industria. El grupo también ha creado los TCA Awards, que cada mes de julio reconocen los logros más destacados de la temporada televisiva anterior, así como los logros profesionales y las contribuciones al patrimonio del medio.

La TCA y su red de presentadores colaboran ahora estrechamente para que las giras de prensa sean más noticiables para los periodistas y más eficaces para los presentadores. Esta cooperación permitió reconfigurar la gira de prensa de enero de 2002 tras el 11 de septiembre. En los últimos años, los responsables de la TCA se han mostrado más disponibles para responder a las preguntas de los ponentes y resolver sus dudas a la hora de perfeccionar sus presentaciones.

Los miembros del grupo han redactado normas profesionales y otras directrices para ayudar a los presentadores de giras de prensa en su interacción con los periodistas miembros.
